IECS (Instituto de Efectividad Clínica y Sanitaria) is an autonomous, non-profit academic institution dedicated to research, education and technical cooperation in the field of health. It is affiliated to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), and has an executive unit of CONICET (National Council for Scientific and Technical Research), a collaborating centre of PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) and a Cochrane Centre. Founded in 2002, its mission is "to contribute to improving health in general, creating and promoting the use of the best scientific evidence".

Ezequiel Garcia Elorrio

Ezequiel is a physician and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Specialist in Internal Medicine at CEMIC (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Master of Science in Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health (Boston, USA). Master in Business Administration at the Austral University (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Currently, he is Director of the Quality, Patient Safety and Clinical Management Department of the IECS and is involved in the consolidation of a research and implementation group aimed at improving health care practices and services in Latin America.

Agustina Mazzoni
Executive Coordinator - IECS, Instituto de Efectividad Clínica y Sanitaria
Agustina is a doctor specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), where she received an honours degree. She holds a Master's degree in Clinical Effectiveness from the same university. She is currently a staff researcher in the Departments of Research in Maternal and Child Health and Quality, Safety and Clinical Management at the IECS.

Glenda Ernst
Country Centre Coordinator – Hospital Británico
Glenda is coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the British Hospital of Buenos Aires. She graduated in Molecular Biology, with a PhD in Interstitial Respiratory Diseases from the University of Buenos Aires. Postgraduate studies in Medical Journalism and Applied Integrated Epidemiology and Health Management. She currently coordinates the academic planning of cross-cutting courses in methodology and research for residencies at the British Hospital, as well as for PhD students.
