Glenda Ernst

Dr. Pablo Young, MD

Director del Departamento de Docencia e Investigación – Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires

Dr. Pablo Young is a specialist in Internal Medicine from the University of Buenos Aires and an attending physician in the Internal Medicine Department at the British Hospital of Buenos Aires. He currently directs the institution's Department of Teaching and Research, where he promotes academic, scientific, and continuing professional development activities at this high-complexity university hospital. He holds a specialization in Hospital Administration and Health Systems from CAECE University.

He has a distinguished academic career as a Full Professor of History of Medicine and Medicine I at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina, with a strong focus on integrating medical humanities, clinical practice, and critical thinking. He is the President of the Argentine Society for the History of Medicine and coordinates the Comprehensive Center for Rare Diseases (CIEPOF) at the British Hospital. He is the author of more than 150 scientific publications in indexed medical journals and is a leading academic and clinical figure at the national and international levels.

Glenda Ernst

Dra. Glenda Ernst, PhD

Investigadora Independiente CONICET – Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires

Dr. Glenda Ernst holds a degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Buenos Aires and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. She is an Independent Health Researcher at CONICET (National Scientific and Technical Research Council) and Head of the Translational Medicine and Nanomedicine Unit at the British Hospital of Buenos Aires, where she has also coordinated the Scientific Review Committee since 2016. She currently coordinates the Research Committee (CODEI) of the Argentine Association of Respiratory Medicine.

She maintains an active academic career as a professor of Biostatistics, Research Methodology, and Thesis Workshop in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs at the University of Salvador, the Catholic University of Argentina, and the University of Buenos Aires. Internationally, she is a co-leader of the Innovation Equity Forum (IEF) in Women’s Health R&D for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and coordinator of the Argentine node of The Global Health Network (University of Oxford). She has over 65 publications indexed in PubMed and a solid track record in translational research, respiratory health and women's health.

Dr Ernesto Korbenfeld

Dr Ernesto Korbenfeld, MD

Médico de Planta – Servicio de Oncología, Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires

Dr. Ernesto Pablo Korbenfeld is a specialist in Internal Medicine and Clinical Oncology, a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires with Honors. He is an attending physician in the Oncology Department of the British Hospital of Buenos Aires, where he completed his fellowship, and directs the Korben Oncology Center, promoting a comprehensive and personalized approach to cancer patients.

He has postgraduate training in Molecular Oncology and is certified by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). He has completed training residencies at leading international centers such as MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Gustave Roussy. He is the author and co-author of publications in high-impact scientific journals and has participated as an investigator in international phase II and III clinical trials. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and a leading expert in medical and translational oncology.

Agustín Buero

Dr. Agustín Buero, MD

Cirujano Torácico – Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires

Dr. Agustín Buero is a physician who graduated from the University of Buenos Aires and specialized in General and Thoracic Surgery at the British Hospital of Buenos Aires, where he works as an attending thoracic surgeon. He is also a member of the surgical teams at the Mater Dei Clinic and the Alfredo Lanari Institute of Medical Research (University of Buenos Aires).

He has advanced training in thoracic oncology, minimally invasive surgery, and interventional bronchoscopy, including certification in Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery. He has completed international rotations in Europe, Asia, and the United States. He is actively involved in academia, publishing in indexed journals and participating as a speaker and coordinator at scientific conferences. He is a university professor and a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the British Hospital, with a particular interest in lung cancer and advanced thoracic surgery.

Dra Daiana Trovato

Dra. Muriel Suárez, PhD

Psicóloga Clínica – Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires

Dr. Muriel Suárez is a clinical psychologist, a graduate of the University of Salvador with Honors, and holds a PhD in Psychology from the same institution. She developed her professional career for over a decade at the British Hospital of Buenos Aires, integrating clinical, teaching, and research activities in hospital psychology and quality of life.

She actively participated in the interdisciplinary care of hospitalized patients, intensive care units, and specialized units, as well as in applied clinical research. She served as a university professor at the Catholic University of Argentina and the University of Salvador. She currently resides in Valencia, Spain, where she continues her postgraduate training and holds professional accreditation in Italy and Spain. Since 2024, she has been an international advisory member of the Scientific Review Committee of the British Hospital.

Médica de Planta – Servicio de Clínica Médica, Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires


Dr. Daiana Trovato is a physician who graduated with honors from the University of Buenos Aires and is a specialist in Internal Medicine from the British Hospital of Buenos Aires, where she currently works as an attending physician. She is a member of the institution's Scientific Advisory Committee and actively participates in clinical research and teaching.

She holds a Master's degree in Clinical Effectiveness from the Institute for Clinical and Health Effectiveness (IECS) and is currently pursuing a specialization in Dermatology at the University of Buenos Aires. She has extensive experience in university teaching and coordinated the Outpatient Medicine Course at the British Hospital. She is the author and co-author of scientific publications and regularly participates in internal medicine and clinical medicine conferences.

Fellow de Reumatología – Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires

Dr. María Lourdes Gil Uliarte is a specialist in Internal Medicine, a graduate of the Catholic University of Cuyo, and trained at the British Hospital of Buenos Aires, where she serves as a Rheumatology Fellow and member of the Scientific Advisory Committee.

She has a solid track record in medical teaching and higher education, having served as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine and as a university professor. She currently coordinates continuing medical education, integrating teaching and research activities for residents and participating in the planning and updating of academic programs. She also collaborates in the development and advising of clinical and translational research projects within the British Hospital.

Dr Sebastían Chapela

Dr. Sebastián Chapela, MD y PhD

Especialista en Medicina Crítica y Nutrición – Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires

Dr. Sebastián Chapela is a physician who graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, specializing in Critical Care Medicine, Intensive Care, and Nutrition, and holds a PhD from the same university. He completed his postgraduate training at the British Hospital of Buenos Aires, where he currently practices clinically, academically, and scientifically.

He is the Director of the Nutritional Support Team at the British Hospital and conducts translational research in clinical nutrition, metabolism, sepsis, and critical care. He teaches at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and is actively involved in the training of healthcare professionals. He is the author of numerous scientific publications indexed in PubMed and a reviewer for international journals, establishing himself as a national and international authority in clinical nutrition and critical care.

Dr Germán Garabano

Dr. Germán Garabano, MD y PhD

Especialista en Ortopedia y Traumatología – Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires

Dr. Germán Garabano is a physician who graduated from the University of Buenos Aires and is a specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology from the British Hospital of Buenos Aires, where he is a member of the staff dedicated to hip and knee reconstructive surgery and lower limb trauma. He holds a PhD in Orthopedics and Traumatology from the Catholic University of Argentina.

He maintains an active academic, scientific, and institutional presence. He is President of the Argentine Association of Orthopedic Trauma and has chaired the Morbidity and Mortality Committee of the Argentine Association of Orthopedics and Traumatology. He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications and a reviewer for international journals. He is currently Head of the Research Department of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Service at the British Hospital and coordinator of doctoral students.

IECS (Instituto de Efectividad Clínica y Sanitaria) is an autonomous, non-profit academic institution dedicated to research, education and technical cooperation in the field of health. It is affiliated to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), and has an executive unit of CONICET (National Council for Scientific and Technical Research), a collaborating centre of PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) and a Cochrane Centre. Founded in 2002, its mission is "to contribute to improving health in general, creating and promoting the use of the best scientific evidence".
