From October 25 to 28, 2023, the LXV National Medical Congress was held in Santa Rosa de Copán, Honduras, with 7 pre-congress courses/workshops, 52 keynote lectures and 106 abstracts, presented in oral (70) and poster (36) format.
Two abstracts were presented about the collaborative work between Instituto de Enfermedades Infecciosas y Parasitología Antonio Vidal and The Global Health Network, one on The Global Health Network Latin America and the Caribbean Consortium (poster format, abstract 97) and another on the responsible use of artificial intelligence (oral format, abstract 58). The scientific program and compendium of abstracts were published as the National Medical Congress Supplement of the Revista Médica Hondureña and it is available at the following link: https://camjol.info/index.php/RMH/article/view/16787.
Both abstracts were awarded. Abstract 97 entitled Connecting excellence and sharing knowledge for greater equity in health research: experience of The Global Health Network Latin America was awarded First Place in poster format. The abstract 58 entitled Promoting the responsible use of artificial intelligence in health: experience building a global community of practice was awarded First Place in oral format abstract Experience Type.
The Pre-Congress Workshop on Biomedical Writing and Publication promoted the training resources on research methodology and ethics available on The Global Health Network platform. In the exhibition plaza, there was an exhibition of the Revista Médica Hondureña and the National Medical Library, and promotional materials such as folders, pencils, lanyards, cards and informative brochures were shared.
