Effective Planning and Evaluation of Health Research Projects with an Emphasis on Implementation Research (PEEP-IR), January – February 2025

Skill-Building Workshop (SB) and Train-the-Trainer Workshop (TTT)

The “Effective Planning and Evaluation of Health Research Projects with an Emphasis on Implementation Research (PEEP-IR)” workshops were successfully conducted for the first time with an IR focus in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

From January 21 to 24, 2025, the Skill-Building Workshop (SB) was held, followed by the Train-the-Trainer Workshop (TTT) from January 27 to 30, 2025. Both workshops aimed to strengthen the project organization and planning skills of health research professionals from Hospital Escuela and their national and regional collaborators.

During the first workshop, SB, participants were provided with key concepts and tools to plan, implement, monitor, evaluate, and report on their own research projects. In the second workshop, TTT, these concepts were reinforced and additional skills in communication, presentation, and training were developed, facilitating participants' ability to replicate and disseminate the PEEP-IR skill-building workshop.

This training initiative is part of the institutional cooperation activities promoted by The Global Health Network Latin America and the Caribbean Consortium (TGHN LAC, https://lac.tghn.org/), which includes institutions from six Latin American countries and the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, including the Antonio Vidal Institute and Hospital Escuela. The consortium is sponsored by Wellcome Trust, United Kingdom.
