Biomedical Writing and Publishing Workshop, Honduras, October 20–24, 2025
Progress continues in fostering leadership in health research in Honduras. Hospital Escuela and the Instituto Antonio Vidal, with the support of the Sustainable Sciences Institute, United States of America (SSI, https://www.sustainablesciences.org/) and the participation of their collaborators, conducted a scientific writing and publishing workshop within the framework of The Global Health Network Latin America and the Caribbean (TGHN LAC, https://lac.tghn.org/).
The workshop was held from October 20 to 24, 2025, with the objective of developing and/or strengthening participants’ capacity in scientific writing by using the argument tree methodology. Through this approach, each participant identified the central point of their information to draft and prepare their work in the format of a scientific article to be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal of their choice. The workshop included theoretical lectures, individual mentoring, and practical exercises with small-group and plenary discussions, during which participants incorporated the recommendations received into their manuscripts until completing all phases of scientific article writing, according to the chosen article type. Participants included professionals from Hospital Escuela, the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Honduras, the Honduran Institute of Social Security, the Honduran Medical College, the Ministry of Health of Honduras, and the Etikos Foundation of the Dominican Republic.
