📍   Lugar: UPCH Sede Miraflores, Aula 203
 🕘 Hora:   9:00 a. m. – 5:00 p. m. | Solo presencial (15 cupos).

UPCH held the Workshop: Introduction to the Use of Methodological Tools for Narrative Reviews and Meta-analyses

On 31 October 2025, the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), partner of the The Global Health Network Latin America and the Caribbean consortium, held the Workshop: Introduction to the Use of Methodological Tools for Narrative Reviews and Meta-analyses, led by Dr. César Ugarte-Gil, MD, PhD.

📍   Lugar: UPCH Miraflores Campus, Room 202
🕘 Hora:   9:00 a. m. – 5:00 p. m. | In-person only (15 participants).

The workshop aimed to strengthen the methodological skills of medical and health sciences students and graduates in developing systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The full-day programme combined theory and practice, encouraging participants to work on their own research topics to apply the concepts reviewed.

During the morning, participants explored the fundamental principles of systematic reviews, the differences with narrative reviews, and how to formulate research questions using the PICO framework. The second part of the session focused on common limitations and biases, as well as the use of the AMSTAR-2 tool for critical appraisal of studies.

The event stood out for its interactive and hands-on approach, as participants actively worked on defining their research questions and designing protocols, consolidating their learning in a collaborative environment.
