Workshop “Effective Planning and Evaluation of Health Projects (PEEP)” with emphasis on Implementation Research (IR) – PEEP IR Skills

During November 2025, the PEEP IR – Skills Workshop will be held at the Hospital María de Especialidades Pediátricas (HMEP), aimed at professionals and hospital teams interested in strengthening their skills in health research.

The workshop will take place on 5, 6, 12, 13 and 18 November 2025, organized by the Hospital María de Especialidades Pediátricas, Hospital Escuela, the Instituto de Enfermedades Infecciosas y Parasitología Antonio Vidal, and the Centro Internacional de Entrenamiento e Investigaciones Médicas (CIDEIM) in Cali, Colombia, within the framework of the The Global Health Network Latin America and the Caribbean (TGHN LAC) Honduras project.

The aim of PEEP IR is to strengthen the competencies of health teams in the planning, implementation and evaluation of research projects, with a focus on implementation research (IR). Through theoretical and practical modules, participants will learn to define purposes, objectives and indicators, structure work plans, allocate resources and manage risks.

The workshop will be facilitated by the team from the Research and Academic Management Unit at Hospital Escuela, together with Dr. Dina Álvarez from Hospital María. All of them previously took part in the “PEEP Training of Trainers” (PEEP ToT) workshop carried out as part of this same initiative. Their participation shows the positive impact of training and empowering local professionals as multipliers of knowledge, strengthening research capacity within their institutions.

These activities seek to promote collaborative learning and strengthen institutional capacity for high-quality research aimed at improving health services in Honduras.
