Strengthening Research Capabilities: Induction for Medical Residents at Hospital Escuela

On December 15, 2025, the Hospital Escuela in Honduras held an induction session for medical residents entering postgraduate programs for 2026, with the participation of 116 professionals.

During the induction, the research support resources of The Global Health Network Latin America and the Caribbean (TGHN LAC) were presented. These include free online courses, protocol development guides, and tools such as research clubs and data clinics, which residents can use to strengthen their scientific projects from the design phase to the dissemination of results.

The session demonstrated how research and clinical practice can be integrated from the beginning of residency, highlighting the interest of new specialists in leveraging regional collaboration and learning tools. This reinforces their academic, clinical, and scientific training in Honduras and the region.

Additionally, participants actively engaged in the LAC Forum, sharing experiences, discussing doubts, and reflecting on the practical application of these resources in both their research projects and clinical care.
