CIDEIM, Colombia, y el Instituto Antonio Vidal, Honduras, establecieron un acuerdo de cooperación
Fundamentados en que ambas instituciones tienen objetivos comunes dirigidos al fortalecimiento de las capacidades de investigación para la salud, el CIDEIM, Cali, Colombia, y el Instituto de Enfermedades Infecciosas y Parasitología Antonio Vidal, Tegucigalpa, Honduras, establecieron un Acuerdo de Cooperación a fin de sumar esfuerzos que favorezcan e incrementen el beneficio mutuo.
Con el Acuerdo de Cooperación se busca reforzar las actividades de hermanamiento (twinning) que ambas instituciones han desarrollado desde hace más de dos décadas y, en el marco del Proyecto The Global Health Network Latinoamérica y el Caribe, impulsar la capacitación en habilidades de investigación, mejorar la cultura de investigación y fortalecer los sistemas de investigación, en Honduras y en la región de Centroamérica y el Caribe.
El CIDEIM, Centro Internacional de Entrenamiento e Investigaciones Médicas, es el Centro Regional de Entrenamiento del TDR, el Programa Especial de Investigaciones y Entrenamiento sobre Enfermedades Tropicales, copatrocinado por el Fondo de las Naciones Unidas para la Infancia (UNICEF), el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD), el Banco Mundial y la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).
Se espera que a través de las actividades de cooperación que se desarrollarán, se fortalecerán las capacidades en planeación y evaluación efectivas de proyectos, las buenas prácticas en investigación para la salud, la investigación de la implementación, la bioestadística, la innovación social en salud y las metodologías participativas de investigación basadas en la comunidad, especialmente con un enfoque dirigido a combatir las enfermedades infecciosas emergentes y reemergentes.

CIDEIM, Colombia, and Instituto Antonio Vidal, Honduras, established a cooperation agreement
Since both institutions have common objectives aimed at strengthening health research capacities, CIDEIM, Cali, Colombia, and the Antonio Vidal Institute of Infectious Diseases and Parasitology, Tegucigalpa, Honduras, established a Cooperation Agreement in order to join efforts to promote and increase mutual benefit.
The Cooperation Agreement seeks to reinforce the twinning activities that both institutions have been developing for more than two decades and, within the framework of The Global Health Network Latin America and the Caribbean Project, to promote training in research skills, improve the research culture and strengthen research systems in Honduras and in the Central American and Caribbean region.
CIDEIM, Centro Internacional de Entrenamiento e Investigaciones Médicas, is the Regional Training Center of TDR, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, co-sponsored by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank and the World Health Organization (WHO).
It is expected that through the cooperation activities that will be developed, capacities in effective project planning and evaluation, good practices in health research, implementation research, biostatistics, social innovation in health and community-based participatory research methodologies will be strengthened, especially with a focus on combating emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.
